Graduate of the Department of Civil Engineering, specializing in sustainability and waste management. During the internship, gained significant experience in organizing and monitoring a construction site team, contributing to the effective and safe execution of projects. The thesis focused on the sustainability study of facilities in the waste management sector, with an emphasis on innovative and environmentally friendly solutions.<\/p>

Additionally, there is knowledge and experience in designing buildings according to the Passive House standard, through participation in the 2020 Architectural Student Competition of the EIPC, where the team won the 2nd prize. Thesis:<\/strong> Feasibility Study of an Integrated Green Point and Recycling Materials Sorting Center in the area of the old tanneries of the Municipality of Thessaloniki.<\/p>

Abstract:<\/strong> The green points (GP) aim to increase the low recycling rates of recyclable materials observed in municipalities across Greece. These rates in the Municipality of Thessaloniki are particularly low (<20% by weight). This thesis examines the feasibility of combining educational and recreational activities with recycling and reusing waste management and sorting facilities, in line with the principles of the circular economy, in the Lahanokipoi area of the Municipality of Thessaloniki.<\/p>

The proposed location for the Green Point (GP) installation is within existing unused buildings of the old tanneries. The project will consist of the Integrated Green Point (IGP), the Recycling Materials Sorting Center (KDAY), facilities for housing research companies in the waste management sector, as well as experiential and educational activities for visitors.<\/p>

The sustainability of the project is assessed based on three key criteria: economic, environmental, and social. The findings of the study indicate that the initiative is sustainable both economically and environmentally. Finally, society accepts the initiative, although continuous improvement and maintenance of relationships between the facility and the residents are required.<\/p>
