The research activities of the Environmental & Energy Management Research Unit are characterized by the application of an interdisciplinary approach to address and manage environmental and energy-related issues. The research effort is supported by projects that enable the exchange of information and expertise with numerous European research centers, universities, and industry partners.

The research projects are mainly funded by the European Union, the Greek state, and other non-governmental organizations. Fundamental research is also carried out within the framework of doctoral dissertations and postdoctoral studies. These activities primarily focus on the fields of Energy Management, Water Resources Management, and Environmental Systems Management.
